Fair Housing

Fair Housing Statement

Hometown Management is committed to compliance with all federal and state fair-housing laws. We do not — and will not — discriminate in the showing, rental, financing terms, or services for any property we manage.

Protected classes we honor

Per the federal Fair Housing Act, the Texas Fair Housing Act, and TREC requirements, we treat all applicants and residents equally without regard to:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Religion
  • Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
  • National origin
  • Familial status (presence of children, pregnancy)
  • Disability
  • Any additional class protected by local ordinance in Bryan or College Station

Reasonable accommodations

We grant reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications for residents and applicants with disabilities, in accordance with HUD guidance. Submit a request to your property manager or to owners@hmbcs.com.

Service & assistance animals

Service animals and emotional-support animals are not pets. We do not charge pet rent or pet deposits for verified assistance animals, in accordance with Fair Housing rules.

Source of income

We follow all applicable laws regarding source-of-income protections. Housing-voucher applicants are screened against the same income, credit, and rental-history standards as any other applicant.

Filing a complaint

If you believe you've experienced housing discrimination by anyone at our firm, please contact our broker first at owners@hmbcs.com. You may also file a complaint with HUD at hud.gov/fairhousing or the Texas Workforce Commission.

TREC notices

Hometown Management is supervised by a Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) licensed broker. TREC's Information About Brokerage Services and Consumer Protection Notice are provided to every prospective owner and resident in compliance with state law.
